Lift blocks are a bad idea on cherokee's. "axel wrap" Do it right and at least build a bastard pack out of some dakota or s-10 leaf packs that can usually be had pretty cheap. There are many threads on building a bastard pack.

I know the Pep Boys near here has a variety of lift blocks from 1"- 2.5" that come with u-bolts. I know they fits a Jeep cause I got some in the past.

you can get them off the shelf at autozone or advance
you couldnt pay me to run them though
you just need them for a 2.5" leaf spring and u bolts for a 2.75" or 3" axle tube depending on your rearend

i have already built bastard packs and made them quite strong to avoid axel wrap, the only issue i have is my axel tube diameter i already bought an block and u-bolt kit but they u-bolts were way big.

yup and the whole axel was able slide forward. i've seen something similar to this when my buddies xj's rear axel slid back . it was because the of the leaf spring clamps taking a s*** and the lower leaf attached to the axel sliding back when we were yanking it out of a puddle...i think the moral is to have quality full leaf packs...they are on sale a rubicon express right now, it is the 3in lift full leaf pack.

you can get the lift blocks, but use them offroad at your own discretion. i think some people dont realize that not everyone on this forum rock crawls or climbs over 3 foot stumps and flexes their truck into a corkscrew. some peoples XJ's never leave the pavement. lift blocks are an affordable way to boost the trucks ride height, enough to get some bigger tires under it. they dont affect the way the truck rides, and if installed properly, they can be safe on road. my dodge 3/4 ton came from the factory with lift blocks, and i never had one problem with them once. permitting i didnt go crazy off road, i just used it to get through the snow and hills to go hunting and fishing.
thats my view on that!

Is there any differance between an XJ and a chevy suburban in the rear as far as lift blocks go? I ran 6" lift blocks in the rear on my suburban for 18 years with out a problem.
