Default Lift

Hey guys, had my jeep for a little over a year and i think it is time to lift it.

I want to do a 3in lift. But is there anything that i have to change with the lift?

I was looking at this lift
http://www.rocky-road.com/xjbudget.html

Is everything included with the 3in lift that i need, or are there other things that i mite need.

Sorry im a newbie at this so bare with me.

Thanks

If you are going to go 3" make sure you get a new longer rear brake line, i heard a YJ line will work. Also, i've never tried rear blocks but was told to stay away from them.
You could get a nice Rough Country with new coils and and rear AAL's, at a pretty good price.
Or for a really nice lift a RE 3.5", its what i have and love it

The 3" Budget lift uses a 1.5" rear lift shackle, 1.5" lift blocks, and our 3" combination coil spacer system. If you're looking for inexpensive 3" lift, our budget system does the trick and does not ruin the ride quality of your vehicle like all Add A Leaf style lifts will. the 3" Budget lift will require longer Ubolts which are available at any local auto parts store.

I wouldn't go with this kit mainly because it uses blocks and whatever a " 3" combination coil spacer system" is.

I agree with what's stated above. Go with Rough Country's 3" kit. It's very popular and you got a great customer service backing up that kit. If you have $$, get full leaf springs. And yeah bmrrwolfe is right, YJ lines ($18) will fit in the rear and are 3" longer. Same for the front. HTH!

Check out rustys offroad. They have a 3.5 in kit that is reasonably priced and it doesnt use blocks. I have a 4.5in rustys kit with 1.5 in spacers and i love it.

I installed this kit on my 2000xj front coil spacers are good. Rear shackles are nice quality. the rear block is basically 3, 1/2 inch plates of steal welded together ( Really Sturdy ) I didn't need to change the rear brake line but that may be different for other years. I have been running this kit everyday for 8 months now with no issues but make sure you have rear shocks ready after the install the factory one are to short. the fronts are a little short also but will work temporarily if funds are tight

Good Luck

The only issues I ran into were the passenger side rear shackle was hitting the tail pipe and the shackle bolts are a real pain to get out. and keep in mind you may need longer u bolts.

have a buddy help you fighting with the front springs and getting the lower control arms and swaybar reconnected gets really frustrating. Ratchet straps were a huge help

Uuggh... the worst lift system from one of the worst marketers out there....(Rocky-Road)

Run away from anything with blocks and shackles both. This has you take the two worst ways to lift the rear and combine them into one enourmous nightmare....

To install the rear blocks and shackles, you have already done 60% of the work to install rear leaves(either an AAL or full pack. Save yourself the headaches and do it right once.
