Life expectancy of a Lock-Rite locker?
Recently I had 4.88s installed, as well as a Lock-Rite locker in the rear. I have heard estimates of 20 to 30 thousand miles life span out of these. Is this true? I just want to know when to start thinking about my next rear locker, and what type. This is a trail rig primarily. It does have to be driven to the trail though. I might do a spool next time, less moving parts! What do you guys think? Thanks much!!
It all depends on what you like .i personally like the lock rites .My last woods truck had lock rites in the front and rear and it wad running a set of 39.5 boggers.I never had a problem with it .A friend has one in his taco an has to drive it as D.D also.thats what im going to purchase an run in the front and rear of my jeep.

Life expectance of anything is filled with too many variables to mention. Run it til it breaks and then upgrade. My motto is "Breakage is nature's way of suggesting improvements". Take it for whatever it's worth.
