Question LHD to RHD Mirrors

Alright team, only been like 12 years since posting but I'm back! I have now relocated to NZ three years ago and have a RHD 96 Jeep (that year that made no sense) and a donor Jeep (RHD '94) for everything that I can strip off of it. Mostly, things between LHD and RHD have been pretty fluid. In NZ we have a what's referred to as a WoF, where currently anything pre 2000 has to get a warrant to be road-worth every six months. From a safe roads perspective I fully support it as you'd be hard pressed to find a vehicle here registered on the road that isn't safe to drive, cosmetically and stucturally sound. There's a caveat to this in which it's not uncommon for qualified shops to take advantage of people otherwise unaware on what could or may not be a valid excuse to fail a warrant, or look the other way. Anyway, herein lies my problem which is greatly of to no fault but my own.

Bought the '96, and for a couple reasons aside from my hatred of chrome (somehow it had a warrant with the mirrors duct taped in place), needed to replace the mirrors. Bought new black mirrors from RockAuto, looks great. But! I'm on the other side of the Jeep, so the angle of the mirrors accommodate LHD not RHD so they max out before they can adjust to where they need to sit. I can parallel park like a champion because I can only see the ground on the one side. RHD mirrors were not an option from RA so took my chances.

After that unnecessary long story, my question is can I transfer the internals from the donor Jeep into the new mirrors? Both have power mirrors so should be able to pop the lenses out and preform some surgery?
