Default Left turn bumping

354,700 miles

When wheel is turned hard left in 2WD, getting a bump, sort of like if 4WD is engaged the tire slips on surface. Got it in the rain today.

Universal joint?

By bump I don't mean bumping the stop when turning the steering wheel. I mean the tire sort of chatters across the pavement.

Could be a sticking u-joint, could be sticking brake calipers, could be a bad hub bearing. I'm assuming this is a 4wd vehicle that you are driving in 2H when this happens, right?

It may be hard to tell what's going on until you actually take the tire off and examine the situation. If you can feel it like a "4wd on dry surface" feeling, then something is obviously not spinning smoothly and the things that spin on the front wheels are rotors, hub or u-joint, unless I'm forgetting something.

Most common cause is a dry U-joint.

A bad hub bearing on 4WD / hub stub on 2WD will cause this.

From the frequency, seems like U Joint. Did not do the bumping on dry pavement today, but will try again after work and see what happens.
