Default left and a right tub sock

ok, yesterday i put new pads and rotors on. started with the passagerside and finished with the driverside. never really looking at the rotors. when i was putting on the driverside. i notes that when i bolted the tire back on. the rotor was hard to speen and was rubbing the spindle. i looked and looked and could not figure out what was going on. it was getting late so i thought i would throw on one of the bad rotors back on and get my jeep out of my friends driveway. when i put the old rotor back on. it did the samething...locked and rubbing.....the other bad rotor fit it perfect..... wtf.....so, after looking at the rotors alittle closer. i found that the rotors had different thinkness where the stud holes where. so, i pull the passager side back off and switch sides with the new rotors and then the new rotors fit.

i guess what i'm asking is and i've never in all my life seen this before. but, is there a left and a right rotor?

thank you for any info.

i do know that the 96 sport is a half year. not sure about the 96 larado drivetran. the drivetran i'm using has been in 2 different xj's. this will be it third run. takes a licking and keep on ticking. i love this thing. dude, i stop driving my very clean 2001 sport trac with cold ac to drive this every day.
