Default Left front speaker doesn't work

Hey guys. I was installing a new deck in my jeep and I noticed that my front left speaker wasn't working.

I hooked up another speaker directly to the front left channel of the deck, and it worked fine. I also unplugged the front left speaker and tested the speaker on it's own, and the speaker works fine.

I thought it might be the wiring in between the speaker and the deck that's the problem, so I checked the wires with a multimeter. The brown/red wire was connected fine, but I checked the green wire and it wasn't connected.

What can I do now? Do I have to replace the bad wire? If so, how hard would it be to fish it through all the way?

Any help would be great, thanks!

Just rewire it. It's not that bad.. Run it from the head unit through the rubber boot then to the speaker.

Yeah since it has a break somewhere along it you cant really "fish" it through but running a new wire shouldnt be that hard just follow the old one as best you can

Yea I have the same issue. Chrysler wiring sucks. Wires always break in doors. I had to resplice mines as a temp but yea ultimately you should run new wires through door grommet

I guess I'll splice the wire somewhere after the door, the wire there should be fine

and then I'll just run new wire through the door to the speaker. Thanks for the help guys

No prob good luck with it. FYI I did it the laZy way and spliced in the door and used dielectric with the splices. It's a good temp job it'll get the speaker working you might need extra wire though
