Default Left brake light not turning on... only 7 volts get to socket

So i have a problem with my left rear brake light
it does not turn on... i thought it was something wrong with socket dirty or something as this has happened before and with cleaning it cleared...

but now it did not

it started when pressing the pedal the brake light with lights turned on will blink and the 3 bulbs will light... turn signal made the 3 lights to blink and reverse turn on with a dim on it snd turn signal with brake...

so i took out the taillight cleaned and now everything works but the brake light on left side... the turn signal sends a little bit of energy to the top bulb but still no beake light

so i am thinking it is grounding it self but i looked everywhere and cant find the problem...

trailer package has been tsken out before snd it is spliced directly from the harness from the front...

any help?

When you get 7 volts, where are you grounding your meter? I ask because those sockets are notorious for having faulty grounds. Seems unlikely it's the Brake light switch since the other side works. One easy test for any ground is to run a wire from it right to battery Neg. and see what happens. Not sure if Jeep runs the brake light through the turn signal switch since ours is separate, (most cars do)

What year? I had to replace the sockets on my 1988. Nickintimefilms on YouTube has a video about that process. Also, it might be easier to diagnose provided that you cut the sheathing before the socket just enough to test the voltage before and after the socket - also test the ground before and after the socket. Test Ohms across the socket as well.
