Default Leaking Water onto my front floor panels (96 cherokee sport)

I recently took all the carpet out of my jeep and have found alot of problems (big surprise). The problem I am stuck on is the water leaking onto my front floorboards. I can see a trail of water running down from the top of my floor boards near all the electricial. Has anyone had this problem? I cant find the source of the water... Thanks

it could be a few things- the seals for the hvac box, windsheild, the floor board like to rust out right where it curves up to the firewall

My 96 does this also in the front floorboard. Mines from the front doors not sitting correctly so when it rains or I run through water the tires spray it up and find all the cracks. Also check where your antenna wire goes through and make sure the plug is in there good. Mine was hanging out and that helped some of my problem. Just got to figure out how to fix the door problem now before I start rusting or it freezes here in Kentucky!!

A suggestion: since you have the carpet ripped up, take some time to protect the floor panels. Clean them, coat them with bed liner, and then apply a layer of seal and peel. You will not have to worry about rust from the inside again. Spray the bottom of panels with undercoating. I think that no matter what you do, there will always be leaks to varying degrees. JB

Thanks for the suggestions! Just to add to the description of the problem... (it is water) but the leaks are coming down from the same two spots on ether side of the top of each floor panel. I will check Hvac Box and windshield but it must be rusted throuh....thanks for the suggestions. Regarding the floor i have ripped out the carpet so i can Herculine the interior floorboards and surrounding walls. When i ripped up the carpet i had two baseball size holes rusted through... cut em out and used a riviter and JB to replace (worked well).
I was hoping someone has seen this problem before. Thanks for the replies

I had a small hole too. My son cut it out and welded a new piece on, JB Welded the seams inside, and used Silicone underneath. I think that mine leaked from the blower, but does not seem to be now.

Have someone spray the Jeep with a hose while you look for the leak.

We power washed the carpets - they look great now.

I had leaks from my upper windshield and my door seal on the drivers side, my antenna and lower windshield on my passenger side. I also discovered a hole just to the left of the hvac that contributed to most of my leak. I think it used to be a plastic plug there.

Both my driver and pass is leaking water. More so my pass side. Pass side was leaking from the antenna grommet were it goes into the cabin. Im not sure about the driver side. After reading this i gotta check my HVAC area. Seems to be a common area.

I have a leak on the top of my windshield on the passenger side where the head liner meets the glass. I also have another leak under the dash on the passenger side right above the dome light for the floor. I don't know where its coming from. The carpet is getting wet on the driver side as well. I haven't seen any leaks on the driver side but the carpet is always wet when it rains. The seats don't get wet so its not leaking around the door. If anybody can help me, I would appreciate it.

I had this on the drivers side. Had a windshield guy uninstall/re-install the windshield. He said it was very rusty all around. He fixed it as best he could, re-installed with a lot of black goop.
