Thanks for sharing your water leak problem. I have the exact same issues with my 91 jeep cherokee. It leaks when it rains and here in Western Washington, it rains most of the time. I will keep checking your postings to see what else I can learn from your experience.

That's fascinating. I've never seen or heard of how that system works much, besides the blend door. Can you take pics by chance? Are there actually supposed to be hoses there, or plastic ducts similar to that under the center console?

Sounds like you've definitely made some great progress. Good luck!
I have some picks. I had no idea how it worked either till I got in there. Everything I have seen there is a plastic hose that runs from the Defrost duck to the extreme left and extreme right window defrost vents. I was able to get up under another 96 cherokee and his had those hoses mine didn't. I fabricated (I use that term loosely) new hoses out of 1" wire loom and electrical tape. I"ll post pictures later. Right now I am putting the dash back in. Now that I know what I am looking for I can figure out where it leaking and do the repairs from outside. Having to put it back in stages. Kind of to the point where more than about 10 minutes at a time is frustrating me beyond belief.

You need to work on it between beers.

Well last update for the day. Got the dash back in. Actually got it put in tighter than it was before. Much less rattling now. As far as the leak goes. Not fixed yet. Bottom line is I am going to hunting in the morning and I needed to get my stuff together so I was done for the day.

I did swing by Advanced Auto and they read the codes for my engine light. 02 sensor and missing battery sensor both of which I already new about. Battery sensor is completely gone and the 02 sensor is a bit of cluster. PO cut out the Catalytic Converter, welded in the larger pipe and now the 02 sensor is too far back too plug into not that it wouldn't trip anyway.

My header has a crack in it anyway and my muffler is about shot so I'm just going to drive it till spring then its getting new exhaust from the engine to the back bumper. I can kind of put it on the payment plan this way. Also have some other plans that would be good to do while the exhaust is out.

I'll post pictures of my duct work and leak areas later. For now its off to get the last of my stuff together and see if I can put a deer on the ground in the morning.

Ok I promise I didn't forget about the thread and pictures and all that but I have been deer hunting but today I got back into it and I have about every leak you can imagine except the outside air intake. Going to post a much more in depth thread with picks and what I did once I get it finished. Probably will be a bit though. I don't have the right tools at the moment to completely finish the job today.

I believe if there's an issue with the battery temp sensor the PCM will run off of a failover "default" value to charge the battery with. Either way, you probably want to get that fixed ASAP before you run into electrical problems and fry your alternator or battery or both.

Here's one I found on a quick Google, you might be able to find one cheaper elsewhere, junkyard is a good bet too.

Good luck in the woods!
