Default leaking at radiator cap
what would make large upper hose feel hard when i park after driving.

Pressure that is built up from heat, it's normal and you want that. No pressure after driving would indicate a leak in the system or a bad radiator cap.

If it's leaking like the thread title says then it's time to replace the cap
