When changing the injector seals on my 01 sport engine heatshield. It saturated the insulation so I removed what I could but there is likely still some left. I left it to dry overnight with the hood up. Anyone think that it will be a problem once it dries?

 

It may be. What insulation is on those newer heat sheilds? Mine is just tin.

 

Honestly I dont know. Its like regular house insulation. I didnt saturate the entire thing, just around the second injector. I think I will remove the rest of the insulation around that one injector just to be safe.

 

I wouldnt remove the insulation... isnt that intended to combat vaporlock?

If it were me i'd take a sprayer with water in it and spray it down.
