Default leak in transmission line at radiator

I replaced my radiator a few weeks back and now I noticed I have a small leak at the top transmission line (the inlet) right at the radiator. I've tightened it a bit and no luck stopping the leak, did I lose a gasket when I change the radiator and not realize it?

If so, what size gasket would I need to put in there? Any other thoughts on plugging this leak? I'm losing a little bit of transmission fluid every drive.

Fixed one leak (the radiator) but got another...

Did you use Teflon tape on the connection?

Take a pic too if you can.

No, I didn't use any tape. I'm guessing I should have.

It will be a while before I can snap a picture, but it's leaking right out of the connector at the radiator, dripping right down onto my lower radiator hose.

When you got the radiator and put it in did you replace the little copper washer that went between the line and the opening? I would look at that first as Teflon tape works but is something to use in a pinch for automotive applications. Those washers can be purchased at your local parts store pretty cheaply.

Ah ha! That's what I was thinking. Any idea what size washer it would be? What would I look for at a parts store?

Thanks

Are we talking about the tranny line cooler line? Show me a pic.

Some connections require O-ring, which was probably in radiator box with instructions.

This isn't my Jeep, but a picture I found on the web. This is exactly where I am leaking from.

I didn't see anything else in the box besides the radiator. I got it from radiatorbarn, CSF, all metal 2 row.

I am guessing from memory here but they were around 1/2 outer diameter with a 1/4 opening... but that is a guess from memory. Also check to see if you have the o ring style as that is another possibility.

Well, I successfully installed a new auxiliary transmission cooler (B&M 70268), but in the process, I resurrected this leak after I killed it months ago. I had taken the transmission cooler line off the radiator (and I didn't even need to do that) and in the process killed some of the threads at the connector on my 8 month old CSF 2-row radiator. Probably because I over tightened it the first time I fixed this leak.

I used some Teflon tape and that worked for week with no leaks, but now the leak is back and no amount of tape is stopping it. The transmission fluid is coming out from behind the flare and nut and not from the threads on the radiator, so I'm guessing it isn't sealing correctly at the flare and radiator connection. I have it as tight as it will go without really forcing it (I'm afraid of over tightening and messing up the flare further.)

It's not a super fast leak yet, just a slow ooze, but obviously I want to get this fixed asap.

Any thoughts or experience with this? RTV? Can I rethread the brass connection? Just go ahead and bite the bullet and get a new radiator? (On the bright side, I could finally get that 3-row CSF... )
