First figure out what is leaking out. Motor oil blowing back from the engine, gear lube (if it is manual) smells fishy, ATF from AT or transfer case is redish in color. Heck, it could be any fluid finding its way down there.

+1 to damn near anything. But given the dampness on the exhaust manifold, I'm guessing some other bloodline motorwise.

its an automatic 2wd. not red, and doesnt smell. does that help narrow it down?

Sorry man, you cant just post a picture and hope we know what it is. Follow the wet spots to the top until you find out where its coming from then take a picture and post...

Are any of your fluids low? Power steering, brake fluid, the stuff that people don't normally check. If none of them look low or dirty, etc, then I don't know what could be going on for you to worry about. I would think brake fluid since it's usually clear and if you have a pinhole in your line, it has the tendency to shoot out a pretty good distance.

Get some white posterboard and lay it under your rig overnight after you drive it to get a better contrast of what it could be.

Also, OP mentioned that wasn't his pic so I don't think the stuff on the exhaust is what he's referring to.

Check all your fluids and see what's low if you can't figure out by looking at it.

I have a leak right on top of the exhaust pipe like in the pic above. It's oil, but I'm not sure where its coming from. It only seems to leak when the engine is warm. It'll drip a bit after shutting the motor off until a little tiny puddle forms on the ground, but stops dripping within a couple minutes. There's such a mess made on the underside of the engine and chassis that it's hard to tell where the leak is actually coming from. Any ideas where it might be originating?

I think it would be better if you could post an actual pic so we can really figure out where the leak is coming from...

You just have to remember that leaks always travel from somewhere, just follow the leak from the bottom up with a flashlight till you find where its coming from then post a picture and we can tell you what it is.

Theres a few possiblities for a aw4 trans. 2wd. It could either be from your output shaft seal which is old and slowing letting out fluids. Also it can come from you VSS(Vehicle Speed Sensor) housing as it is above the crossmember and is seal with an o ring.

The fluid will probably not be redish since it kinda helps clean as it goes down and would easily become black in color. Also you say it doesnt have any smell to it, which it puzzeling cuz all these fluids smell.

If i were to put money on this i would say the output seal. I say this because my old 93 sport 2wd used to have the same problem.

today i got samples of all the fluid colors and then drove, came back, and parked and waited for the leak. it turns out its an engine oil leak and its coming from further up towards the front. i snapped some pics on my phone but they arent very good but i thought it couldnt hurt to share them.
