Default leaf spring?? want your opinion...

okay so my buddy just installed the RC 3 in AAL and instead of just seperating the spring pack he just stuck the AAL up under all the springs and tightened it all back up....it looks and rides fine i was just wondering how safe it was??
im also thinking of doing it too based on what i hear from you guys....

yea thats what i was thinking since it has the pressure from all the other leafs pushing on it....also my leaf pack center bolt is extremely rusted and my AAL kit came with new bolts, can i just cut out the rusty ones??

its either right now, just adding as much lift as the spring is thick, or the ends of it are pushing on the main, and maybe the secondary lift, when compressing the aal will press against the main/secondary leaf at a more vertical angle than acceptable, eventually putting a bend in the leaf and fatiguing it. broken leaf springs do happen, even when they are properly setup.

and just cut the bolt head off and pound it out.

ADD kits should have good instruction but you put it under the main leaf, it is not hard to do it right, just a tip, it really helps to use a big c clamp to compress it together enough to put the center bot in then you can tighten up that bolt to compress it the rest of the way, then cut off the rest of the bolt but leave about a 1/4". thats what i would do if i where you

you want the longest leaf at top and shortest on the bottom.

the aal should fall inbetween the main and secondary stock leaves
