So, I'm tryin to get the lift set in the rear and I'm removing to rear leafs (trying to) and the bolts for the shackels and the leaf spring seem to be stuck. I'm pretty much hanging on my 24" breaker bar with a 20 inch extention and they won't budge. Am I missing something here or are they just that rusted in there?

PB them every day for a week and try again. They are a huge pain in the tush. Do you have replacement bolts? If not, try to be as careful as possible, as these are typically a dealer only part and are known to break.

PB would work wonders, ha but if ur not tryn to mess around waitin for the pb to work just grind the head of the bolt off and hammer it out with a punch and get new ones ... its a good idea to replace them anyways.

I already had to make a dealer run for the upper shock hardware on the rear .

But no I don't have a set of replacement bolts... looks like the guys at my local mopar dealer might get to know me real well...

Yup good pen oil is what i used on mine. Let it soak twice a day for 3 days. Used a good 6-piont and alot of elbow grease and they came out. When they first break loose it sounds like a snapped bolt but the next time you try to turn you know for sure it is not snapped. Also once they start to move do not stop till you get it out. I broke loose the fronts then removed the rears, when i went back to the fronts (the next day) they were magically re-stuck and much harder to move.

for the front bolt i had to use a sparkplug socket and a lug wrench the 4 sided one. so i could get the right leverage to get them out. worked wonders.

Hah alright... looks like I won't be wheelin with the guys as soon as I thought, but it will be worth it to have this done right...

Same thing here, I rushed. Cut them and then banged them out and replaced them. imo

I used a 48" section of iron pipe on my breaker bar. Obviously had to use extensions to bring that out past the body, and supported the extension on a jackstand. I got them to the point that they were out of the nut but still siezed in the leaf spring bushing...had to cut em out. Got new ones at the dealer for $7 each...

P.S. I broke 3 sockets on the frame side shackle bolt on mine... gave up on that lol.

I used a big pickle fork (tie rod seperator) with a 3 foot piece of pipe over it. Get it behind the head of the bolt and pry while someone turns the bolt. Heating them with a torch also helps a lot for initially breaking the bolts loose

I having the same issue right now... What about cutting the front leaf spring bolts? How do you bang them out if your just cutting the head of the bolt off? I get the back ones but isn't the front bolt up inside the unibody? The leafs don't have any tension on them do they?

Not enough tension on the springs to worry about. If you have to cut the bolts on the front mounts you have to cut into the unibody frame rail to extract the bolts and then weld it shut after you're done. Don't cut the bolts unless you absolutely have to
