Default leaf spring perches

hey guys, i was out looking over my jeep and discovered that the tabs welded onto the axle where the leafs sit are rounded causing the axle to walk back and forth.

i was wandering what is the easiest/cheapest way to fix it, drop the axle and get new ones welded on or replace out of a junker?

i bought it with a pro comp lift already installed and the lift blocks in the rear just barely contact the tabs an the axle just by a 1/4 inch either side but i have a rockys offroad 2" shackle and solid lift block going into the rear just have to fix them tabs.

i know they cant cost much but labour and shop charges? opposed to a junker axle

thanks

I'd almost need to see a picture to show what you are describing.

I've never heard of a perch rounding off quite the way you are describing. Particularly that the stock perch is an almost solid piece.

If you are sure you need perches .. I can have a set sent directly to you. Any local welder should be able to remove the old ones and weld the new ones in (paying attention to pinion angle). A good garage with a welder can do the same.

from the looks of it you are right that plate should be flat never seen that before but i would bet those lift blocks on there caused it get rid of them and get some shackles or something else imho they suck as for teh fix order a set of perches and cut off the old ones and wled on new ones make sure to set the pinion angle the same

hey i guess i shouldn't drive it like a honda but a 4.0l 5 speed it kills most cars out there and the look on there face when they know they are beat by a 4x4 is almost worth it. cant wait for 4.7l strocker.
