Leaf spring clips rattling
So the clips are loose and rattling around. Just wondering should I cut them off or tack weld them in place? It’s stock street driven saggy springs waiting to replace them. They’re really loud and annoying. Thanks all.

ive used universal u-bolts after i added a full add a leaf lift they didnt come with rubber like shown in the picture above and new once started to rattle aswell and solved it with placing rubbers on top of the leaf spring in between the clamps, these clamps are not suppose to be super tight cause it need to flex they are just there to keep the leafs lined up and prevent spring wrap.

I’m sure there were probably rubber when new. It’s a 98 and likely the springs are original. Not only are they loose but the outermost ones slid in against the innermost. I’ll probably just tack them to the upper leaf so the smaller ones can still flex. Hoping by this time next year I will have new springs.

Don't weld to the leaf. Unless you like broken springs...you don't want to weld to spring steel.
Cut the old ones off, and replace with some aftermarket clamps, should only cost about $20 per spring pack.
