So, on the Rustys 4.5 inch lift, what is better, having 3 inch leaf pack and a 1.5 inch shackle, or a 4.5 leaf pack?

I'm actually looking to get the same setup on the rear. I do believe that when you have the full leaf pack + the shackles you'll get more flex out of her. And be prepared, I spoke to the guys at Rusty's and they told me that setup will net no less then 4.75" of lift, that after it settles down.....
That's the way that I'm going.
Good luck,
J

If you read up on here, a lot of guys don't like the AAL's. I have the zone 3" AAL's on my XJ now. They been good, but I don't like how they split the leaf pack up. Hard to explain, but with the stock leafs are pretty flat, then you add this arched leaf in the middle, it's hard to keep the pack together. If you tighten them down with leaf clamps, you'll lose flex. I want more flex. So, I'm going with the full 3.5" leaf packs and shackles for the rear. I have the zone off road 3" AAL now, I got a lot of ***** for it, but I netted about 4" with this kit, and my rear hasn't sagged at all. I've had it installed for about a year and a half. This is my DD, and I do go off road when I can. AAL's are notorious for sagging.
But, to be honest with you, if you have the cash, get the full leaf packs. In a year or so you'll wish you had.
Thanks,
J

oh ok, thanks! Yeah, i hear a lot of people don't like the AAL's too, but they are cheaper. The only problem i see is my gas shocks are the stock ones from when my jeep was built (its a 89) so my leaf springs in the rear are struggling to say the least haha, so i am afraid if i just get the AAL the back will sag, so i think ill just spend the extra cash and get the 3.5" leaf packs and shackles. But thanks for the help, i appreciate it.

Anytime my friend. Also just another word of advise. When you order from Rusty's call them. I had some stuff in a cart online I was about to buy, and the shipping cost was like $200!!!! I called them and asked them if that was right and they told me no, it should be $146.
So I'd call them and place the order, just so the shipping cost doesn't get you.....
Anytime,
J
