VSS problems, no speedo, stalling...

VSS problems, no speedo, stalling...
So the other day I popped out the VSS in my 97 XJ that had an AX-15 swap done a while ago to see the number of teeth on the gear to correct my speedo. (rear was not swapped). Put it back together and now my speedo doesn't work, my CE light is on and my XJ stalls or almost stalls when coming to a stop...
The code it has is P0500 which is a faulty VSS... I replaced it and nothing changed... They did give me new pigtail with it that you have to cut and reconnect the wires to but I put them back in the order they were removed... Idk what the **** to do anymore it's one problem after another... SO in lieu of this I'll state a very popular acronym for JEEP... (just empty every pocket)
