Default Lack of Heater Core housing

I recently bought a 1996 Cherokee Country. When I bought it, the owner said there was a slight hole in the heater core housing under the dash. Well, the small hole turned out to be a gaping hole right near the blower motor. I have looked high and low for a replacement, but cannot seem to find one. Any help would be appreciated as temps here are already in the 50's. Thanks

Welcome. Where do you live?

Any pics of this hole? Heater core is okay?
