so im sitting at 3in right now.. some guy has a knuckle over kit sitting at his house... now my question is what would i get out of it.. i do plan on going higher in the near future

Right at this point, it would not be of benefit to you. But if you are planning to go to six or more inches of lift, it would be of real benefit. One thing you will need to do however is relocate your track bar mount on your axle. If you do that your steering will be greatly improved and you will not have any bump steer. Also the stress on your tie rod ends will be reduced.
