I have been soaking the button with wd40 for 2 days now and it still won't move. Is there a trick to pushing it down or is it so rusted that it is just frozen???

 

Try finding the post in the write-up about how to reduce the slack in the line using that button. I think I remember a few guys had the same issue and posted their solutions. IIRC a few gentle taps and using a small screwdriver to encourage it to pop up may have done the trick. Just don't force it too much and break it.
