I guess we ALL learned a lesson.

Get a spare key & hide it somewhere on/under your Heep.

Some wallets have a place for keys. Get one without the plastic cover

Now, it is not longer available because the police department and fire department have better things to do than keep up with your keys.

You must be in a small town with 2 police officers.
actually a town of 30,000 and 2 police departments and 3 fire houses. along with a bunch of other big towns all around. (north chicago suburbs). not trying to start anything but thats how it is in my neck of the woods.

I don't doubt you... Most places don't do it anymore.

Liability and time.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's illegal for police/fireman to do it in Cali. Parts stores can't even read codes for free here anymore, some BS about taking money away from mechanics...

suck it up and call AAA. it's like 40 bux.

i could show you how to make the tool, and tell you exactly how to get in, but it's unlawful, since i do it for a living.

I'd suggest removing the transmission, dropping the shifter down and out of the way, then insert a small trained child through the shifter hole to go unlock the door.

Did you get it yet?

Whenever you do, go get yourself a spare and either keep it on you, separate from other keys or get one of those hide a key things.

Its the first thing I do now whenever I obtain a vehicle. My first truck I bought ever I got it home, and immediately locked the keys inside. Had to use a broomstick with a wire hanger mangled and taped to it to get the keys out.

That sounds like a lot of work. Get yourself a finger monkey

And drill a hole in floor boards.

^^^ best suggestion EVER

no but really just go to the dealership
15-20$ for a new key, seems alot better then 40$ for aaa or anywhere from 60-100$ for a window if u break it.
just need proof of ownership and vin #.

and seeing as you dont seem to have a spare key, if you go get one made at the dealer ship then you will.

and then find a place to tuck that key into your wallet or something you carry with you every day.
i always have a spare in my wallet.

It would take 3 theres no way 1 is gonna unlock it on its own. The lock bigger than it is. But you should still get one just because its cute....
