if you have no overhead console it will be in the front center of your head liner... it will looke like a plastic cover with a black ball in the middle... the remote is programed through the ob2 system with a DRB.... Some have told me you can program it with a snap on scan tool if you have a correct card.. but that I am unsure about... since your dad works at a junkyard see if you can get a 2000 jeep cherokee owner's pack it out of a junk jeep it should have a section in the owners manuel to tell you about the key fobs and if there is away to program it yourself... and if you can program them yourself... I hope that helps...

there is no overhead console or black ball in mine. mine is just a circuit board in the housing for the dome light. one easy way to tell if to have RKE is to unplug the dome light and plug it back in while the door is open. your locks should either unlock or lock when you plug it back in.

sweet i just took my dome light down and found mine just like yours. my dad knows a few guys that might be able to program it, if not i will have my dad look at the junkyard for a cherokee with keyless entry with the remotes in it and ill just swap that circuit board in. thank you everybody for the help. i really appreciate it

Hey sorry it took so long to reply to this. I guess I've just been busy with school. Anyways, sometimes you can get a discount through insurance. for me though when my keep got broken in to there was some body damage. I have a friend that has a body shop and fixed it really cheap so I had some left over money.
