Brought my xj out of storage, drove it to work and the key wont go to the lock position. I know the switch is bad since u can take the key out in any position but now it wont go to lock. Its a 93 auto. Cant figure it out. Any ideas??

 

spray a little wd-40 or any penetrating fluid at a time in the key hole and slowly work the key back and forth ...had to do this to my grand daughters....and then changed the ignition switch....good luck

 

Will do. Why i dont think of the simple things first but thanks. I just turn it off and disconnect the battery bc running half doors kinda need it to turn and lock off
