Went to start my 1993 Jeep Cherokee AW4 4x4 this morning and the key didn't want to turn hardly. So I went to turn it back to remove the key and it will not come out... Any good write ups on ignition switch replacement?
If you have AAA try giving them a call and see what the repair might cost. Since the car is not drivable it qualify.
I got a great deal with the locksmith making the change in the driveway.

I got it to turn and work but I know its still messed up. Its actually the lock cylinder which apparently is a bear to change.. any advice on this?

UPDATE! The ignition switch itself was the issue. I removed it and turned the key with zero issue. The switch was an absolute pain to replace but still easier than the lock cylinder. Jeep starts and runs fine with no sticky key! Thanks guys!
