Default Key gets stuck on run and won't turn off

Was trying to get gas and went to turn off jeep and key wouldn't budge, sometimes if I wiggle it, it'll turn off or turn really hard (worried I'll break something) what's the deal?

Sounds like either a worn key or the switch needs to be replaced try another key first. I had that problem not long ago on a truck key was worn new one fixed for a while, I know the switch will be next. There are a few things in the steering column that could be an issue as well post up more info like caged said.

if it's a saginaw column, those were notorious for ignition switches with rods sticking and keys being able to pull out while the jeep is running.

then there's the chrysler columns like my tj that the key gets sticky if you try starting it like 50 times to clear the 50 start cycle for the "not ready" sensors for emissions.

Yeah I can take the key out while driving, it's gotta be the switch, I can also start it with no key as long as the wheel isn't locked
