Default key fob in silent mode???

Ok i did try to search on here and via google as im sure this has been covered. However neither search got me anything.

First off i was talking to a buddy of mine who has a chrysler veh with the same key fob as my 2000 xj. I asked him if; You lock the doors with the key fob and some one opens the door from the inside (slim jim or wehat ever) will the alarm go off? He said it should. We tested it and it didnt work. So in playing with the fob some how we managed to put it in silent mode. Now the horn wont chime when you lock it.

How do i put this back to normal?
and
Is the stock alarm or horn supposed to sound when unlocked from the inside like in the above mentioned circumstance?

Thanks guys.

PS I just sold my ZJ to buy my new XJ and will never look back.

Press and hold the lock button for 5-10 seconds
While the lock button is pressed, press and release the unlock button.
This should work, it worked on my 2000 XJ
(Works the reverse way too)
