Did you put the batteries in the right way?

If the batteries are still good and are put in correctly, your reciever or "brain" could've just stopped working

The batteries were put in the right way i know that and they are brand new, i need to get the spare remote i have at my moms house in charlotte and see if that works.

Now as far as the receiver do you know where it is in the jeep?

And is there a fuse somewhere for the keyless entry?

I've been trying to figure this one out for the longest time too, keyless entry would be nice.

Take the FOB to a dealer or any authorized key shop. Because the FOBs have to be programed. They can tell if it's still functioning or not. If you need a replacement, there about $140. Good luck.

Mine (dealer bought and programmed) eats batteries. I'm looking at mine apart on my workbench. I replaced the batteries (CR2016) two month ago, one reads 1.5v, the other .8. My wife's six year old Honda's is still on the original batteries. Just another one of those Jeep things.

Screw that, I'm not paying that much for a minor convenience. Eh, oh well.

My wife's 5 year old Toyota Fobs are still going strong. I liked that, two different size batteries. WTF! My '91 has key-less entry, but I never got the Fobs (been missing for about 12 years that i know of, and I'm not paying $140 for one either.)

So it turns out that a light got unplugged in the harness and that disabled the alarm so it caused the keyfob to stop working, figured it out when I pulled my sagging headliner out

Cool, good for you. There is nothing better than a free fix.
