Blue is right, the closed system will work fine!! I switched to the open system for easy on the trail repairs. I used to have temps in the 210-240 range. Since the upgrade, I've been runnning below 200 consistently. I wired my fan to a switch inside the cab, so I can kick it on when needed. It isn't needed unless I'm wheeling it hard. I also switched from two electric fans to one mechanical and one electric for simplicity. So far it has been a great mod!! HTH!! If you need more info on what I did let me know!!

They do... the one at the back of the head is for the gauge, the one at the front is the one that works with the electric fan.

I have a closed system also. I run between 190 and 210 except when its blazing hot and humid out. Maintenence is the key with keeping a closed system happy and working correctly.

I have hood spacers rather than hood vents. A switch to control the stock electric fan to kick it on when wheeling. And I added "water wetter" to my system.

It's an additive for your coolant that lowers operating temps.

This is the one I use and have used in the past. 4-Wheel Hardware and Quadratec sell another brand that is purple colored.

I got mine from a local speed shop, but I saw it on the shelf at O'Riellys last time I was there. Jeg's and Summit both carry this also.

I have used that stuff in the past and gotten about 8-10 degree drop in operating temps.
