Is your system open type or closed type? From what I understand closed type are very tempermental. I plan to upgrade mine in the near future.

By his vehicle description he already has the open type. I have the closed type and think it works fine just requires a little routine maintainence. Keep your closed system. The newer high performance engines are switching back to the closed system because it will allow hotter engines to operate at a higher temp like a lot of turbo engines today have.

Open has a cap on the radiator. The closed system has a plastic expansion bottle on the passenger side firewall in the engine bay.
As for radiators just stay away from "Radiator Barn" as they have a bad rep in the last couple of years.

Look at muddeprived's write up on his hood vents from West Marine. He even says he can see heat waves rising from them. That may be your best bet.

Mykal are there two temp senders on H.O. Jeeps like on Renix Jeeps or are they combined on H.O.s?? Something is failing to bring the fan into the cooling mode at the correct temp. I wonder what it is?

He isn't solving the "fan not coming on when needed" problem. He needs to find that and fix it or the problem will continue.

Negative. The thermostat controls the flow of coolant.

Any liquid-cooled car engine has a small device called the thermostat that sits between the engine and the radiator. Its job is to block the flow of coolant to the radiator until the engine has warmed up. When the engine is cold, no coolant flows through the engine. Once the engine reaches its operating temperature the thermostat opens. By letting the engine warm up as quickly as possible, the thermostat reduces engine wear, deposits and emissions.

If you ever have the chance to test one, a thermostat is an amazing thing to watch because what they do seems impossible. You can put one in a pot of boiling water on the stove. As it heats up, its valve opens about an inch, apparently by magic!
