Rust is the main killer for old vehicles. I'd look at fixing that first. If it's beyond your skills/tools/budget then get that XJ shifted on before it gets worse. Rust never sleeps
If you can fix the rust, and the vehicle fits your needs and still makes you smile then keep it. You can fix the other problems in your own time.

XJs are like ticks. They get under your skin and bury themselves in and won't come out. I never really cared for them....until I bought one. I'd really like another because this one is hopeless rustwise.

Good responses here! I appreciate everyone's feedback. I do believe I'll keep it and work on the problems when the weather gets warmer(Spring). Fixing the rust is first on the agenda. I have some Ospho to help out with rust control.

By keeping it, I expect the JEEP adage to stay true... Just Empty Every Pocket.
