Hi guys, this isnt a post searching for advice, but rather a post giving advice to many who might have the same issue.

I cannot tell you how many times I have had this issue, brand new battery about 6 months old, same case with the starter, and the car refuses to start. 3/5 times it was because the connections were dirty/corroded.

This is a common issue for me since I like to do a lot of wheelin on beaches and salt always manages to creep up and corrode the **** out of everything

Keep all the connections/grounds clean (running to starter/running to exterior fuse box/ neg running to ground on block)! It will save you a lot of time and hassle. Just my .02 on those who have starting issues and know everything should be working fine.

Applying a thin coat of Vaseline on the battery posts/inside and outside the clamps will virtually eliminate corrosion.

I have used the felt battery washers for a number of years that stop most all of that on all my cars and trucks, cheap and put on any time the battery is replaced.

I still remove all cables and clean every 6 mo. or so and find very little to no build-up on the terminals these are used on. I replace them once a year and spray with a terminal protectant as well.

I use some stuff called "Ox-Guard." It is make for electrical connections to stop the gunk build up. I have use Vaseline in the past though.

Don't know about your underhood temps, but Vaseline melts like butter on a hot plate with my underhood temps in mid summer. (High temp) silicone paste is what I use on the outside.

....and the Vaseline will wick into all the small cracks/crevices when it heats up but will remain thicker than motor oil and not run out. Every household has Vaseline in the cabinet, no?
