So I have been playing arround with the Idea of hood vents for a while. I dont have a heat problem but it does get hot when idiling in traffic and wheeling in the snow. Im not a big fan of scoops but Im curious about vents I was even thinking of running 2 vents in front faced the front of the car and two in the back facing the windshield so air will come in go over the engine and exit, what do you think? does anyone notice a temp difference with their vents/ scoops? or water and dirt and bugs on the engine? good brands? thanks

The hood vents won't actually lower engine temp. But they do help with underhood temps which will help prolong the life of other components. If you are experiencing increased engine temps at idle or slow speeds then you should look into coolant system upgrades like a high flow water pump or a 3 row radiator. Flow Kooler makes a waterpump that they claim doubles the coolant flow at lower rpms to help with the cooling.
