Short story: Should a 1992 and a 1998 XJ have the same mounting points for suspension/engine/axles etc?
I have a '92 currently sitting because I've got too much unibody trouble in it to try to fix it for the type of machine I want it to be. I know of a guy with a rustless 1998 2wd XJ that has no engine. My engine/tranny/axles/transfercase are all good. I am hoping to be able to buy this 1998 body cheap and swap my running gear (sans perhaps rear axle which will probably be kept for spare) onto this other truck. My only concerns are with where crossmembers/suspension mounts etc are. What I hear about the changes are all light/cosmetic, not much as far as the underpinnings go. From what I can tell they are the same, and I can't find anything on the "what's different" lists that would make this definitely _not_ work (outside of the D35C vs 8.25, the slip-yoke vs not, etc).
So can anyone tell me if this is nuts or feasible?

Sounds feasible to me but the engine electronics are different so you need to keep the ones from the body that you are going to keep(98) That intake will probably be the best of the two as well.
