just replaced motor in my 89 and now have problems

I would try that, and get some injectors from the jy and soak them in seafoam over night. You might as well get the 703 injectors from a neon while your at it, like i did it and they work beautifully. And if you dont use the whole bottle of seafoam on injectors, put the rest in the gas tank.

this is gonna sound dumb and probably obvious.....but...here goes...


You 100% sure the firing order is correct? wires to plugs are in CORRECT location and they are in good condition and are snugged securely?

also try tweaking distributor around while you have it running to see if it smoothes out anywheres along the tweaking process...


like i said might be dumb....

your timing is not adjustable.
did you remove the distributor? maybe it's not in right.
or your wires are out of order.

you can try swapping the map sensor.

i already replaced the injectors i didint soak them in seafoam, but ill grab some 703 ones next time i go to the jy and try those out what year neon do they come out of,i got a accel super stock coil laying around would that work in there or sould i just go buy a new one

i did remove the distributor but im 100% sure its in right and same with the fireing order, i also tryed other map sensors from the jy.

could it be that the tick mark on the harmonic balacer is a hair off from the o on the water pump?

You gan get them out of an early 90s neon, just look at the plug to make sure its the same as on your jeep.
