i didnt know you guys might know the ratio just by that... i was just gonna wait till i went to get it to see... if it still has the tag... its a I6 with 5speed peugeot tranny... actually the brakes on my 35 are shot and the 44's i think are good... at least the P brake worked before i took it out anyway... didnt pull the drums... i just want it right so i figured it may be easier to do all this with it out first... So with this axle kit you dont have to mess with any of that with the bearings and what not? Are all the alloy axle kits like that or just a few like this one? Thanks again for the infor man!

The kits I have seen include everything needed to install them. Including new Studs that screw in. I think I got mine from 4wheelparts.com.
Well if no one has changed your gears before. the I6 with 5spd SHOULD be 3.07. Have no fear though. The 3.55 ratio was common with the D30. They came in the I6 with automatic. If it was me, I would go buy a later model d30 with 3.55's and 297u-joints. That way you get stronger axles, no vacum disconnect and it will be cheaper then swapping the gears out. This is of course if you want to keep that ratio. Around here the pick-n-pull yards charge around 130 for a complete axle, just look for half price day and get it for 65

it should say on the ring gear two numbers something like 34 10 or something thats how many teeth your ring gear has and then your pinion ger has theres a website to put those numbers in and it caculates your gear ratio for you heres a link

im pretty sure you just would divide 34 by 10 and get 3.40... but i dont think thats a real gear anyway... ive seen all the web sites on where to look on the inside but im trying not to pull it apart... plus im good now since the outter plate was still there and im guessing my front will still be there too... thanks though!

IF you Have a 5spd with a I6 odds are that you will have 3.07 for gears.
3.54, is basicly the same as 3.55. The diference is withing the tolerance factor.
IF your vehicle is broke down in town, on a major road I would be going to check on it each and every day, I know where I live.. State police Look for vehciles on the side of the road, and within 24hrs they are gone.

yeah it busted the motor mount, trans mount and swung the fan in the radiator... driveshafts beating the floorboard... sucks... its in a belk parking lot but its kinda sticks out cause its covered in mud and out away from the building... but its under a light and i stuck that note in there today so it should be good till early next week... once i get the mounts ill be able to get it home since the radiator is just barely leaking... i think anyways... but i forgot to check the axle of course... gotta go to big lots tomorrow and its in the same parking lot so ill try and remember... again... lol
