my jeep is a 86. meaning its a renix right?? plus(talking about 4x4) when i jacked up my jeep and put her in 4-low/ high my front driveshaft does not spin. is that a prob???(now i still need to get that vac. ball storage tank thing, but without that will it cause my 4x4 not to work?? cuz when i do put it in 4-low/high my rear locks into the lower gearing but none of the front wheels spin
end of next month im going camping and i know its gonna rain, and i really would like to have my 4x4 working-cuz getting pulled out by a stockie that is working would make me look bad(especially when im running 38.5 boggers)

1986 is pre-RENIX as you have either the craptastic 2.5L or the craptastic 2.8L V6 motor. The 4.0 didn't make its appearance until 1987.
As for the front not engaging into 4. Check the vacuum shift doo-dad on the front axle. Check the vac lines for leaks. Also the internal "fork" snaps off too. just slide the "collar" over and clamp it over with a hose clamp. Did my '84 like that and it works great.
