Talking Just got a jeep, few questions.

Im going to pick up my 1996 Jeep Cherokee Country tomorrow. Theres a whole lot I'm wanting to do to it. I hate the chrome on it and all of that, but it was too good of a deal to pass up.
So, my plan is to add the following things to it.

Brushguard(Front/Rear)
Front/Rear Bumper or Paint current one?
Rubber Bumper Caps
Standard Black Handles for the doors x4
Safari Rack
Some sort of offroading lights to mount to the safari rack
Lift Kit(6" or 8")
Wheels (35" offroading tires)
Side Moulding(I've seen a lot with a black moulding with a red stripe on it, i'd like the get that, if i can find it)
and Nerf Bars.

Now my question is, do y'all know where to get most of these cheap, or at least a decent price?
And would the 6" to 8" lift be to much?

I'll post pictures tomorrow after I get it home and cleaned up.

-Devan.

Well you just rattled off a huge list of pricey parts. =) But the best thing to do is research this site, for previous threads using the search button. I think you will be surprised with the information you can pull from it.

Yeah, and this is all stuff im gonna have to do slowly over time. Im hoping that maybe some of it i'll get lucky and people i'll know will have them and look to get rid of them. And maybe i can hit up some local junk yards and see if they have some of these things.

But, if i can get my computer working a little better than it is i'll search through the site a lot more in depth to find what im looking for.

First welcome to CF from Tj in NJ, Lotta work and lotta money ahead if you get everything your looking for. The lift kit your looking for would require you to get SYE ( slip yolk eliminator) and run upwards of $600-1000 alone for a good one. Just do some searches and you will find everything your looking for...Tj

Alot of this stuff is about preference. Ex: I have warn bumpers (F/R) even though they are expensive and probably overkill, but I love the look.
I don't really like roof racks and definitely don't recommend them for lifts around 5" due to your center of gravity.
I took off my red stripe cause I didn't like the look
8" is too tall
You don't want nerf bars, you want rock rails. I recommend JCRoffroad
What kind of terrain are you using you jeep for
