I just picked up a pair of cherokee's. An '88 limited and an 89 base model. they both need a little work. they have bothe sat a while, but start and drive.
The 89 is all together, but it hase made an aquaintence with a deer in the front drivers side. I am going to try and pull it out a bit to get the header panel to bolt on. that said, i need a replacement for that. it does seem to run well, except there is quite a bit of lifter noise when warmed up.
The 88 needs motor mounts and the exaughst manifold is loose and the pipes are not all together. the Brakes were very weak, but there is break fluid in the well.
All in all i am very excited about my aquisition. (the pair for $700) And the potential they both have!
But i would like to get some advise about where to start. the 89 is the most road ready, but has sat for as year. I have driven it a bit and it seems pretty good, except the lifter noise. what should i do as far as general maintainance to get it back on the road? Im planning on getting the 89 up and driving and the 88 a project for the winter.
any advise appreciated
