i have a yellow top running my warn m8000 with absolutely no issues.
but don't wire your winch to the side terminals. warn advises against it.
just mount it up to your cable connectors.
yes i had a good conversation with 5-90 about side terminals and they are bad umkay

as long as you get the D34 or the D34/78

the blue top D31M would be the best for winching
900 amps at 0 deg 1125amps at 32 1300amps at 70

but some have good luck with them and some have very bad luck

So, the winch came in today! It's like christmas but much better! I also talked to Mark today at Detours, super nice guy, and got my Backbone ordered. It should be here in 10 - 12 days. Here are some pics of the winch. Seems pretty sturdy. Enjoy the pics!

ha ha they are all the same until you start getting into the real money warn units. but with the Smitty built you would have gotten better electronics that is why there is a price difference but i would not sweet it to much if it gets you home that one time you are stuck it is a good deal

well you could of got a lot better quality than that, with warentee and smitty bilts are really good winches. so i hope you are pounding your head like that when you get stuck and that thing frys in the first two seconds. you will learn you get what you pay for, i hope you hook it up backwards and fry it. good luck sending it to china. ya mook.

hopefully all that will happen is you might just burn out the solenoids.
if that happens, don't worry, i know a guy.

he's hooked up with a factory in china and designs and builds winches under the name of titan. he has strong solenoids that he actually sells to other winch companies for their winches.
he's had some pretty good luck with his titans.

I for one hope your new winch kicks butt so I know where I can get a cheap winch when I am ready for one. I figure I've only had to use a winch 3-4 times since wheeling 20+ years, although there are different lines I would take IF I had one... And every time I have needed a winch I was with someone who had one- needed the winch because I knew one was available so I could get more aggressive. I do plan on putting one on the XJ if I can get a used one or a cheap one.

So let us all know how that winch works out once you get it hooked up and have to use it once or twice. :-)

If I were a moderator I would you.
