The story goes like this....
I lost oil pressure one day driving. Pulled over. Trailered it back so i could work on it. Replaced, oil pump,RMS,VCG seal. While i was at it i replaced starter and battery clamps on the battery. I now have oil pressure. Engine is not seized. Ive sprayed starting fluid into the intake. checked all fuses. I disconnected the CPS and then plugged back in. It seems like it is failing to spark. Question is. What else should I check?

Just a guess but it can be yoru cps or a bad coil. Just a couple of things to look into. unplugging and plugging the cps in doesn't always work. You can test it but the teat isn't always correct. I had mine test good but it was still bad. I replaced it and no more problems.
you said you removed & replaced the starter and the battery clamps. Since you are getting a no-start / no spark (ie: electrical issue), that is why I was suggesting checking all grounds. Does it turn over and just not start? Or no turn over either?

I redid the connections to starter and battery when it would not start. I get no spark at all. Im going to pick up a compression gauge and check compression tomorrow after work.

Ok, so you had a no-start before you replaced the cables. If all grounds are good (and that could be from rust, a bolt loosening up, rodents eating the sheathing off a wire, etc.) and confirmed to be good, and all fuses / relays are working, then I'd look to sensors or computer. As TexasXJ said, did you check for a check engine light? Or for codes?
Does a '96 have a starter relay? I'd check the connections. Their is a (likely green) wire you can pull of the starter relay And touch it to the pos. batt. Terminal with the key on. If your dome lights can come on but don't dim as you try n start it, your not getting power to the starter motor. I believe.
