It's a 96 . Can't believe I took so long to say . 4.0 . Today messing with plug wires they were shocking me . Taking this as a sign it needs new wires . I'd bet this is the cause . Will be back with more info . Other ideas welcome .

 

Pull the plugs and look at them while you're at it.

 

When I did the head gasket . While the head was out I went ahead and changed the plugs .

 

alot of times you can hear the wires arcing if there bad, also run it at night in the dark and look for the sparks, but id say youre on the right track cuz they shouldnt have lit u up like that. imagine what a tazer feel like
