Default Junkyard Visit

Well was my day off today and i figured i would go hit up some yards today. Went to one that has another right next to it. Just went looking around to see what i could find. My good luck started out with a set of gas piston arms for the rearhatch off of a 96. They were brand new $7.50 for both. Then I found a set of light on another Walmart light bar. $10. there were alot of cherokees and grand cherokees. I know that everyone says that the coils from a grand give about a 1" of lift? is this true? also i am in need of a new steering cloumn. my tilt is shot and the wheel wobbles like nobodys business. Would the steering column from a 94 fit??? does it matter at all. they only want $30 bucks for it. also picked up a set of basically brand new a/t for 60 bucks yes rims and tires for $60 bucks. Also found alot of Np231's in the yard today. What is the value of one from the yard and would i be able to replace my NP 242 with a NP 231??? anyways it was a good day i got my eyes on some dakota leaf springs and some f150 coils as well. Which would give more lift the f150 coils or the grand cherokee?

V-8 GC springs will give one inch. Ford coils from a 70' model will give 3 inch but will ride rough.

Replacing a 242 with a 231???? That is a crime!!! The 231's usually bring from 300-500 depending on condition, etc. If you have the small column (mainly 91-94, some 95) most all are the same. you did not say what year you have but I would assume that it is one of these, if not, the biggest difference in the older models is the lock cylinder... older is gm style as the jeeps borrowed a gm design until the airbags came into the picture
