I wouldnt waste my money, those performance chips should only be used on hauling diesel trucks. They don't do a whole lot for the XJ.

Not enough to justify the expense. I have exhaust, TB spacer and a K&N as well. If I had to do it over, I'd skip the chip and TB spacer

If I ever did performance mods I would probably do a larger TB and a high flow exhaust.

If you're running a 6 cyl. then I wouldn't really bother with horsepower mods, unless you want the bling factor. If you have a V8, make sure your other components are up to handling the added stress more power will place on these parts. The BIGGEST problem all these Ford F-350 Diesel people have is broken trannies form adding a bunch of power to an engine while leaving a tranny stock. For most wheeling horsepower is not your biggest problem. Traction is. Followed by clearance. Just remember this...Buy buddy out-wheels most people out there in his rig, locked front and rear with 33" Goodyear MTR's, and his engine only makes something like 60hp....and that's when it was New...With stock tires and gears!

Just something to think about...

P.S. The more power you have....the more likely it is you're going to break parts.

Later.

I'm just wanting to get more hp because I feel a little loss with the 31" tires. can anyone help me with that one? I don't really care about fords, or whatever was said in the really long one, I just want a little boost, the best bang for my buck.

When dealing with larger tires the best bang for your buck is to regear. You will get significant power increase along with MPG increase.

thank you, would 4.10's be appropriate for 31'' tires? I am going to go back to 235/75R15 in the winter, would that hurt me?

Are you ever planning on running larger then 31's?

If you look hard enough some stock manual XJ axles came with 4.10's. Along with various other axles. It may save you some money.
