Default Are Jeeps bouncy ride?

Hello guys,
Am new here and wanted to post my first question.
I had my first jeep stored in my garage for eight months and just got it on the road. It's my first jeep but I notice that it feels a little bouncy on the streets. Is it normal on jeeps? Flat spots on the tires?

It's a 1999 Jeep Cherokee Classic 4x4, 4.0L I6 Engine, four door.

I always wanted a Jeep and now i got it. Can't wait to drive it for years to come.

Yes, it is a little bouncy. But if it is bouncing at low speed then you might have a tire problem.

Shouldn't bounce. How many miles on your shocks? Bouncing is often due to shocks that are shot....

Shocks/Tires etc. When you store a vehicle is usually best to leave it on jack stands...

PDXJ, yes that is a perfectly tuned suspension bounce.
If your shocks need replacement, select a set suitable to your next expected suspension project.
Your XJ will ride like a Jeep, not like any car you've had before.
You'll will invest in all types of suspension upgrade components. These will eliminate issues of being vertically challenged, and improve your ride to the point of death wobble. You will search the forum and have your suspension geometry adjustments tuned to perfection to eliminate the wobble. All the other parts of your Jeep will be envious of the suspension getting all the attention and will start to vibrate, squeak, and misbehave intermittently until you also apply some upgrades there. In the interim you will have acquired new bigger tires to better suit the gaping wheel well clearance. You will install and step back to admire, snap and post a few photos of this latest upgrade. Then you will take a day trip and that night post on the forum a question if anyone is experiencing a bounce, shake, rattle, roar, vibration, looseness, tightness, or just to keep you on your toes; a dead calm quietness.
And you will love every minute of your experience because this XJ is alive and you are the creator! You will also be under the false belief that you will be able to tame it.
But then the best part of life is in the journey!

If you are going down a flat road without a bunch of bumps and you are bouncing, there is something wrong. I wouldn't describe the normal ride as bouncy, it's just a bit more firm and less cushioned than in regular cars. But it's never uncomfortable (at least to me).

Haha mine is pretty rough my head almost hits the ceiling sometimes. Thats what happens when you put big tires and a lift. But better shocks like Bilsteins might help you. Also I drive on pretty rough roads, but no they don't ride like a caddy.
