From what I understand that can be a normal temp for some Jeeps. What thermostat did you put in and what kind of jeep do you have?

Your at about 216° which is right where most jeeps sit before the e fan kicks on. Honestly, wouldn't be troubled by it. But for what it's worth, if your going to try and fix the cooling system, do it all at once.

Water pump
Tstat
Hoses
Radiator
Coolant flush

x2 on doing the entire system, if you can swing the cost in parts. I was averaging the same temp as you but after I did the entire system I averaged about 20 degrees cooler.

Do u have access to a infrared point-n-shoot temp gun? Point it at the t-stat cover to see how the reading compares to your dash gauge. If the dash gauge is correct, u r running a little toasty for this time of year while probably running the heater. <$250 in parts replaces the entire cooling system.

Yup, time for maintenance. Def look into a new fan clutch if you say it happens when standing still.

Get the infrared and check the hoses to and from thermostat to see if the t stat is opening. 195* mo par one

Radiator cap is very important. 16lb one iirc

A flush with fresh concentrated green coolant, the one you have to mix yourself with distilled water, never hurts either

Ha! That "related threads" feature gotcha, didn't it?

I hate that thing. I disabled it in my profile a few years ago.

Would anyone like to put together a troubleshooting guide for overheating issues? That would take care of at least half of the threads on here.... Hahaha

that's assuming someone would actually shut down all the threads that would get made.

We could use an oil pressure master thread too

And somehow this will get people to read the information that is already posted and avert them from asking what was already solved?

Sounds like we are in witchcraft territory.

I bet you're probably right hahaha. We do have a search function and I bet there are at least half a dozen new "overheating" threads made every week.
