Jeep Won't Start ?
Cherokee 1997, 4.0 Auto
So I drove up the into the foothills last night and all was well.
Did a little shopping for a couple of hours, get back in the Heep and crank it over and over and over, No start.
Do some checking and no spark from the coil, needless to say I had to strap tow it home
today 45 miles
I checked all Fuses I could find and all wiring, all looks well.
Any Idea's on what to check now ?
Also the last few time I drove it, a few times when I would take off from a stop and give it alittle extra gas it would stall out, let off the gas and then it would take off again, did this about 4 times in the last 3 times I drove it. Fuel delivery is fine, but I have no spark from the coil.

There are a number of possibilities including crank sensor, ignition coil, ignition switch, and
others.
However, in 37 years of working with the Jeep 4.0, the #1 suspect is a bad crankshaft position sensor. Without the input signal from that sensor to the computer, you will NOT have spark and you will NOT have fuel going to the fuel injectors.
Start with testing your crank sensor. Here is a thread that gets into that.

As far as the "stumbling" upon acceleration, it is very possible that problem is not related to your no-start. Always review tuneup hardware with this symptom. That includes fresh Champion copper plugs, new plug wires, distributor cap and rotor.
Good luck and check back to let us know what you find!

Got it going today
Was the CPS.
Although doing the Ohm's test really did not tell me anything.
I tested mine and a few know good ones, all of them tested different and none tested as the FSM Specs.
None tested infinate between B & C, they all have resistance that varies.
So seeing that mine tested way different from the new one, I bought it
and installed it and it now Runs again.
