Recently my 89 Cherokee with a 4.0L and auto has been close to stalling or actually does stall.

When I start it now it will start normally and then the RPM will drop very low. At times it will stall but usually it will struggle to stay running but will keep running.

Since I have owned the Jeep since Dec. 2009 I have had to replace the fuel pump and IAS I have also replaced the fuel filter and have cleaned the injectors, TB, and fuel lines/tank with Seafoam.

Awhile back I had problems with it not wanting to start at all and I thought that could be the CPS. It would crank and crank and I found that I was not getting spark from the coil. At that time I cleaned the connectors to the coil and the CPS and have not had a problem with starting since, other than the current problem.

check for a vacum leak. i would bet on that. the easy way to find it is with a can of starting fliud. spray it on your vacum lines with the jeep runing. if it excelerates you no you have a leak
